Mexico Trip: Day 3 Isla Mujeres, Mexico

according to my research, isla mujeres and cozumel are two beautiful places for underwater activities. isla mujeres is awesome for snorkeling whereas cozumel is for scuba diving. i have done scuba diving before and a lil traumatized by it because it hurt my ears so bad due to the water pressure. my friend charles went scuba diving @ cozumel and he said that was the highlight of his entire mexico trip. cozumel is known as the no.1 scuba diving spot in the world. not only it’s absolutely beautiful, charles also said they encountered crazy sea turtles and sharks. we almost changed our mind to go scuba diving @ cozumel, but i was still afraid of the ear pain. we decided to go to isla mujeres for snorkeling first and maybe check out cozumel 2 days later when we feel like it.

so day 3 here we go!!! we exchanged a new car 1st thing in the morning cuz our wipers broke. our hotel was relatively close to the ferry. there are 2 ferry terminals: one closer to the hotel zone, one in downtown. the one in downtown is a little cheaper and more frequent. we went to the one closer to the hotel zone.

before we got on the ferry, we signed up for a private snorkeling tour.

our ferry. trust me, you dont wanna sit on the top. the crazy wind blowing on your face is extremely uncomfortable and you are more likely to get seasick on top. we learned our lessons the hard way.

  1. I believe my muse, Kat and I are headed to Isla Mujeres. Your images may have sealed the deal. Did you find it to be welcoming? Were there many local restaurants? I prefer getting out with local people as opposed to being stuck with tourists in a sheltered and far removed place.

  2. I spent several days on La Isla Mujeres this winter and can’t wait to go back again. Loved that place immensely.
