MAFF Event @Blue Ginger|Simply Ming’s “On the Road: Japan” Series

this monday pork belly attended a cocktail party with chef Ming Tsai, officials from MAFF, the Consulate-General of Japan in Boston and The Japan External Trade Organization at Blue Ginger celebrating the release of Simply Ming’s “On the Road: Japan” Series.

simply ming ‘on the road’ was shot in japan this time, visiting various regions of japan, including osaka and hyogo and nara prefectures in the west, nagoya prefecture in the center, and tokyo in the east. if focused on how certain japanese foods are produced, such as miso and sake; where certain foods are bought and sold, such as yellowtail and other seafood at tsukiji market; and most important, perhaps, how the foods are prepared and eaten.

they played first 3 eps of ‘on the road: japan’ during the event: michiba & seafood, wakiya & ramen, street foods. chef ming tsai also gave a brief talk on his experiences in japan and his impressions of japanese food including 2 dishes served during this event.

too bad i couldnt make it to the event, but pork belly brought me back 2 bottles of bunny sparkling sake!! i absolutely love the white peach one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im dying to try other flavors! cant wait to watch the rest of the series since im fan of japanese food.
