the resort is beautifullllll. if you didnt stay at the hotel, a day pass to the hot spring is around $60 per person. it is free for people that do stay at the hotel. i think i only paid $200 a night for the hotel room. it’s a much better deal to stay at the hotel. this is def the best hot spring resort in the area according to my research.

a quick tip on shooting waterfalls:

take a look of these two pix, which one looks better?

August 16, 2014-IMG_2505 August 16, 2014-IMG_2524

i hope you think the pic on the right looks better. the water flows a lot more smoothly than the one on the left. to achieve this effect, you need longer shutter speed. i use 11 to 15 shutter speed to shoot waterfalls. its slow enough the capture the water flow, but still fast enough for me to hold still with a tripod so my pictures dont turn out blurry.

some pix i took in water with my gopro.

i highly recommend staying at this hotel is you are visiting Arenal. not only the natural hot spring is one of the best in the world, the staff also was extremely nice and helpful. everything was perfect except for booking tours through the hotel was more expensive than online prices. i’d book ahead of time online to save 10-20 per tour per person.
