Have you thought about hiring a personal chef to come to your comfortable home and cook an exquisite for your family and friends? Want to surprise and spoil your parents by having a professional chef cook for them? Can you imagine the dinner, a 10-course extravagant tasting menu, tailored to your specific taste and needs, better yet, at a very affordable price?
Last week, I witnessed Chef Bing made all these wishes possible at a private dinner event. It was an eye-opening experience that I can’t wait to share with you guys.
Chef Bing’s background: with a Le Cordon Bleu Paris diploma, Chef Bing has worked at Corton and Dovetail (both Michelin-starred) in new york city as well as Taillevent and Chocolaterie by Jean Charles Rochoux in Paris. Following his passion for food and cooking, he started his new venture: the Fugu truck, aiming to bring authentic asian street food to boston. He also works as a private chef and some of his sample menus, ranging from small party bites to 10-course tasting menus, are available at http://www.kitchensurfing.com/fugufoods
Without further ado, please join me on this photo journey of Chef Bing’s astonishing creations.
1st course: Crab Avocado Rolls Summer Squash
2nd course: Tuna Ceviche, Fennel Salad
3rd course: Foie Gras Terrine with Gold Leaf Flakes, Puffed Rice
4th course: Farmer’s Market Cherry Tomatoes
5th course: Sea Scallops, Artichoke, Snap Peas, Mint
6th course: Konbu Salmon, Strawberries, Popcorn
7th course: Watermelon, Mint Granite
8th course: Filet of Beef, Baby Turnips, Wild Mushrooms
Beef was cooked sous-vide in a water bath
9th course: Molten Lava Chocolate Cake, Raspberry, Sesame Crumble, Vanilla Ice Cream
10th course: Black Sesame Financier, Green Tea and Yuzu Macarons
Everything was exquisite. Chef Bing was very efficient, accommodating, warm, friendly, and professional. Not only did he do an incredible job cooking, his assistant also provided great service. They took care of everything, even washed all the dishes and left the kitchen spotless by the end of the night. This allowed the guests could just sit back, relax and fully enjoy their dinner with family and friends. All the guests were extremely satisfied with the food, service, and the private dining experience. The guests told Chef Bing that it was one of the best meals they’ve ever had, which is not surprising after witnessing it myself.

Damn that look effing impressive.
Love your food !
These pictures are insane. What lens?
a wide angle and a 50mm
Amazing! I think you can be fully impressed with a Michelin starred chef in the comfort of his own professional kitchen, but to go into someone’s home and do that to such a high standard (albeit with some of his own equipment) that’s impressive! And you don’t often get to photograph the chef at his work completely also – even if he preps things in front of you, there are corners where he’s able to do some of the prep beforehand or away from the “stage” as it were.
Did he bring a lot of his own stuff, crockery, pans etc? Did he ask for the kitchen to be cleared for him in advance? I imagine he already prepped the basics of the ingredients beforehand?
Beautiful photos by the way, pity we don’t meet the chef – would be interesting to see his expression 😉
Looks nice, how much per person for this meal?
LOVE this! I think it would be amazing to hire a chef for an holiday event so you aren’t busy cooking. So you can also enjoy your own party!
Wonderful looking food and pics! You had me at “very affordable price”…
THANKS for sharing this out-of-this-world event! Your photos of the food preparation are exquisite–a photo-documentary of every step! –John Robinson
